I’m hoping for 3 or more inches of snow in Raleigh myself.

Yeah! the first signs of snow just started. It looks like the cold air mass took a little longer getting here then they forecasted last night but it’s finally here. Now it just has to start sticking.

What a tease. The snow did start sticking but only to the grass and other plant life. Nothing stuck to the roads, driveways, sidewalks, etc.. but I’m sure there will be black-ice everywhere in the morning. It looks like the 1-3 inches forecasted turned out to be a joke. I really wanted to take my car out and finally test the Quattro All-Wheel-Drive System out in the snow. Oh well, at least it snowed and it was more snow then we have seen in a while. Hopefully none of the snow on my property will be disturbed when I get up tomorrow so I can take some pictures of the house and the snow.

Granted I did not look at the weather channel yesterday so it might have been predicted but who knows. In any case we had heavy winds and rain. I even think their might have been some small hail from the sounds I was hearing off the roof and windows. One of my sunflower plants got knocked over but seems to be doing fine after I placed it up-right again. Of course power got knocked out which sucked since it was only around 9pm. After trying to find something to do in the dark, I ended up trying to go to bed earlier then normal for me on a weekend (10:30pm instead of 2am hehe). In any case I was sure that by time I woke up power would be back on.. Wrong. I got up around 8:30am to the sound of my neighbor’s power generator. I should get one of those someday. Any ways I decided to take a shower (thank you gas water heater) and then head out to grab some breakfast. By time I got out of the shower the power was back on.. YEAH! This was around 9am so I was without power for around 12 hours. Hopefully the stuff in my fridge survived. Good thing I did not buy that ice cream last night.

I’m always happy to let nature water my yard instead of having to pay the city to do it. There is one draw back to all that rain today, it reminded me that I still need to clean out my gutters. I was able to clean out the lower gutters but I’m either going to have to break down and buy a really tall ladder or pay someone to clean out those second floor gutters. Stupid pine trees.
