Clean Workbench

Posted by heymoe on 21st October 2007

Yeah, I now have a usable workbench again. When I first started to clean it off you could not see any part of the tabletop. I also went around the house and collected all of my tools that were laying around and put them back up on the pegboard.

Busy Saturday… Phew!

Posted by heymoe on 20th October 2007

It’s amazing, I actually got a lot done today. It actually feels good to be productive on a Saturday instead sleeping in late and plopping down in front of the boob tube the rest of the day.

First thing I did today was sort all my recyclables to get them ready for Tuesday. I then checked and inflated my car tires. They were not as low as I’ve had them get in the past so that was good news. I then rolled the car out of the garage and swept that half of the garage. Next I rolled the Kawi out and checked and inflated its tires and boy were they low, can you say mid teens. After the tires were re-inflated, I took a quick spin to limber it up. Boy I could really tell the difference in handling with properly inflated tires. Once I got back to the house from the quick spin I pulled out my hand saw and wondered around the house cutting down small trees that popped up where I didn’t want them and there were a lot of them. After being outside for awhile I headed back into the house and swept the kitchen and the family room which I’m still in the middle of working on. I need to finish paying off a few things before I start working on it again. Any ways, I took a little break to have lunch and to finish watching “The Reaping“, which I started to watch last night. Overall I thought it was a good movie. After the break I went back to the garage and decided that it was time to reclaim my workbench area which has been blocked by a lot of junk. Plus all that junk makes it a pain to get the motorcycles in and out of the garage without backing the car out. This took awhile but it was well worth the time. I can now walk right up to the workbench without having to crawl and / or trip over things. I still have to clear off the the workbench and put all my tools back on the peg board but I’ll save that job for another day. Once all that was done I rolled the Shadow out to check and inflate its tires and, like the Kawi, its tires were really low as well. I then took the Shadow for a quick spin to limber it up.

Now its off to cook up some dinner and to relax the rest of the night. I think I’m going to watch “Evan Almighty” after dinner.

Hopefully I can be just as productive tomorrow. C’yas

The Gutters Are Clean!!

Posted by heymoe on 17th June 2007

Casey and Lindsay offered the use of a pickup truck yesterday to try and bring a ladder home that was tall enough to reach my 2nd floor gutters. After looking over the ladders that were tall enough and the size of the bed of the truck we decided that it was not going to be safe since over half of the ladder would end up sticking out from the back of the truck. I do want to thank Casey and Lindsay for taking the time out of their weekend and for offering the use of the pickup. In any case I remember seeing over at Lowes that you could rent trucks for hauling stuff home so I headed over there today to see what my options were. Sure enough they rented trucks for $19 / 75mins and it was more then long enough to safely stick big ladder in the back. Since I don’t live too far from the Lowes I decided to buy the 28 foot ladder with the idea that I would have enough time with the truck rental to get it home make sure it was tall enough and if not return it for the 32 footer. I hopped the 28 foot would do it since it was 20lbs lighter then the 32 footer which would make it easier for me to maneuver the ladder by myself. Sure enough I got it home and set it up and it was just the right size for me to get up to the 2nd floor gutters. It’s not tall enough to reach the tallest part of my house but I figured the gutters are really the only things I need to reach so I returned the truck to Lowes. Once I got back home I started to clean out the gutters. Sure enough pine straw was cause of the clogs at both ends of the gutter. Now all my gutters and clean but I noticed some rotting wood most likely caused by the over flow of the clogged gutter so I’ll have to take care of that now. It did not look bad so it should not be to big of a job to fix.
